About Kelly K
California native Kelly K grew up in Dana Point but moved back and forth between Los Angeles and Dana Point throughout her youth. From an early age, the entertainment industry captivated her. Fascinated by the business side, she often asked what made the industry tick. At age 12, Kelly was invited to model alongside her brother, who was signed with the Wilhelmina West agency. However, rather than pursue a career in front of the camera, Kelly chose to support her brother’s career and developed a strong interest in the behind-the-scenes workings of the industry.
As she approached college, Kelly became involved in production work for photo shoots, film sets, and advertising campaigns. She collaborated with notable names such as Luigi Lavazza, David LaChapelle, Jack Black, and Tommy Lee, steadily building her network of media and celebrity relationships. Through her work in production, celebrities began approaching her to become their publicist, recognizing her dedication and strong work ethic.
Kelly K has been active in the public relations field since 2005. She began as an independent publicist and was soon invited to join and help launch several PR firms. Kelly founded her first firm, KK & Carter Public Relations, and has since worked for Scott Hamilton Film Public Relations, served as Vice President at The Virago Inc., and held the role of Account Executive in the Talent Department at The Presstige Group Public Relations (TPGPR). Today, she is the Founder and CEO of her own company, Kelly K Public Relations.
Over the years, Kelly has worked on high-profile campaigns, including the launch of the Kardashian Khaos store and celebrity poker tournament (marking the beginning of Kardashian-branded events), Mel B’s workout clothing flagship store launch, DIDDY Invades Hollywood (NBA All-Star Weekend), Snooki’s yacht party, and promotional work with LMFAO and The Dr. Steve-O Show. She also worked with cast members from MTV’s The Hills, including Brian Drolet and Jordan Eubanks.
